Pawan Verma began his organized political journey with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), actively participating in organizational development, youth engagement, and grassroots political activities across Bihar.
In 2021, Pawan Verma joined the Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP) in the presence of senior leaders including Shri Pashupati Kumar Paras, Shri Suraj Bhan Singh, and Shri Prince Raj Paswan. He served actively in youth leadership, organizational development, and public engagement across Bihar.
In 2025, Pawan Verma (Nishant) resigned from his position as Bihar State President of the Student Wing. He publicly linked his resignation to the expulsion of Akash Yadav from the party and expressed his disagreement with the organizational decision.
